So i'm browsing the pligg forum and come across an interesting thread today where a user Teri asks if pligg has a feature that will allow an external image to be uploaded with a story. Instead of getting the correct answer to his question from the Pligg developers Teri is asked to purchase a module which does not and never will do what he asked for, great support and advice from developers eh.?

The weakness is that BlogEngage are using the standard pligg captcha method which is easily bypassed and has been broken for some time. Several spam stories have already been promoted to the BlogEngage published section in quick succession.

Recently Pligg have semi released an edited open source Wordpress template titled Lemon Twist for Pligg, the reason we say semi released is due to pligg asking that You "Do Not Redistribute" the template unless asking YankiDank permission first?. This along with a few other naive errors breaks the original GNU General Public License which the template was released under originally by it's creator Chris Murphy of farfromfearless.com.

Hao Hao Report, a Digg-like social bookmarking/link sharing site that focuses on blog posts and news articles related to China is the latest site to move away from the flawed pligg social news system. Dao By Design who control Hao Hao Report have recently written a interesting blog post explaining why they decided to change from pligg in favor of drigg for drupal. This is yet another blow to pligg as Dao by Design are experienced pligg users which goes to prove the system is really only an option for the hobbyist and not for professional level deployment.

So yesterday our article on Pligg caused some controversy with pligg refuting it all as lies once again in their automatic defense mechanism, We noticed a pingback on our article from the pligg forums where a user had posted a link to our article and asked YankiDank some questions. Guess what the post started well nearly managing to have a mature conversation, but as usual then it was deleted keeping in line with our article's so called false accusations.
