We have included the utils.php and comments.php in the downloadable package the pligg developers linked to files on the SVN. This should be easier to install for new users to pligg.
1. You'll need a WordPress API key if you don't already have one. You can get one here... Where is my WordPress.com API key? « WordPress.com 2. Enable the Akismet module from you Administration panel Modules 3. Access the module by using the 'Spam' link at the top 4. Enter your WordPress API key If Akismet says a comment is spam, it will not be saved. It just disappears. If Akismet says a story is spam, it is still submitted, but there will be a link at the top to either confirm or deny that it is spam. Confirming will change the status to discard. This is a very basic / beta module and more features are coming. To UPGRADE, just upload the new file, replacing the existing ones. Download Attachment: akismet_pligg_module_complete_v0.4.zip You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post. |

Lincoln, I'm using Pligg 9.9.0 and have installed Akismet.
I'm not sure if the module is working correctly. First off I cannot change the settings as they are just text entries like below with no action. Akismet Anti-Spam Settings Return to the Akismet Management page -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Immediately discard spam (yes) (no) Keep track of spam stats (yes) (no) Disable a users account after (x) confirmed spam Notify Akismet when you 'confirm' a spam submission (yes) (no) Notify Akismet when you 'confirm' a false-positive (non spam) submission (yes) (no) Today I installed it and it did pick up a spam item so I reviewed it and clicked on "No, this is NOT spam" and nothing happened. Should not the entry clear out of the module. I can completely logout and then come back and Akismet still tell me there is 1 item to review. Doesn't appear that this module is working correctly. Any advise on this would be appreciated. Thanks, Jared Blake |

Hi Jared,
Unfortuatley i had a look at the module on our system and the options were the same. I have personally never used this MoD due to it slowing down the step3 submit page considerably at times. I will try it on v9.8.2 and see if the options can be configured in that version of pligg. L |
