The only thing that was weird is that in my case to put the add on the second row I had to put the index eq = 0

Thanks! I put my adsense code in it’s own file named “myadsensecode.tpl”, and everywhere you said to paste my adsense code, I added an include (replace the square brackets with squiggly brackets):
[include file=$the_template."/adsense/myadsensecode.tpl"]
